Skopje hosts the 2nd meeting of the European forum for disaster risk reduction (EFDRR) from October 10 to 12 which is currently chaired by the Republic of Macedonia. Sponsor of the meeting is President Gjorge Ivanov.

At the first day of the meeting President Gjorge Ivanov, Pande Lazarevski, Chair EFDRR, Margareta Wahlstrom, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, UNISDR as well as officials of the European Commission and the Council of Europe will deliver addresses.

The 2011 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, climate change, forest fire prevention, disaster risk reduction through ecosystems management will be discussed at the meeting.

Participants at the meeting Monday afternoon will visit "Museum of the Macedonian Liberation Struggle" and "Holocaust Memorial Center" followed by reception organised and hosted by President Gjorge Ivanov.
