Majority of Macedonian citizens generally approve the Government's activities, although there are differences in the support of specific policies and projects. Economic situation is the biggest common priority, regardless of ethnic or party affiliation.

These are the conclusions of the November 4-6 poll conducted by the Institute for Democracy Societas Civilis Skopje (IDSCS) and the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) on 1,100 respondents.

More than half of respondents (54.1%) approve the Government's work, while 37.8 percent disapprove its activities.

Majority of citizens believe the Government is working on the enhancement of Euro-Atlantic integration, interethnic relations and fight against crime and corruption, whereas public opinion is divided over the economic development and education.

Citizens claim additional efforts are necessary in the reforms of public administration, judiciary and media freedom.

The Ministry of Health is the best and worst assessed ministry, which comes as a result of the citizens' political polarization, read the poll conclusions.

The IDSCS/MCIC poll shows that economic situation is the biggest common priority of citizens, regardless of ethnic or party affiliation.

Most citizens support project Skopje 2014, while those against it claim funds could have been used for different purposes.

The poll shows strong political polarization of positions on most issues. The perception on the political reality is exceptionally opposite among different party followers.
