Since oil companies generally follow the highest allowed retail prices, as of midnight prices of oil products will go up by an average three percent, reaching a new, record-high level.
As of tomorrow, fishermen and farmers will pay HRK 6.54 per litre for blue-dyed diesel, an increase of HRK 0.19.
The latest rise in prices of oil products was expected given an increase in prices of oil products on the Mediterranean market and the fact that the VAT rate in Croatia increased from 23 to 25 percent on March 1.
Prices of oil products can be changed every two weeks, and price correction depends mostly on the movement of prices of oil products on the Mediterranean market and the US dollar exchange rate. Prices can be changed downward or upward by a maximum three percent.
Prices of motor fuels have been going up for the seventh accounting period, since December 2011, while prices of diesel fuels have been going up since the start of this year.
Compared to prices in mid-December, as of Tuesday, the price of Eurosuper 95 will be about 13 percent higher. The price of Eurodiesel has gone up about 8 percent since the beginning of this year.
