Prime Minister Sali Berisha received today President of INVITALIA (Agenzia nazionale per l'attrazione degli investimenti e lo sviluppo d'impresa) Giancarlo Innocenzi Botti. Attending the meeting was even the Italian ambassador to Albania Massimo Gaiani.

Mr. Botti congratulated the prime minister on the sustainable economic situation of Albania although it’s time of global crisis and also for the results achieved especially in the attraction of the foreign direct investments.
In this framework, Mr. Botti as the head of this institution that supports and advises the Italian business, expressed to the prime minister the willingness of several Italian businesses to consider extension of their activities and investments in Albania and more concretely in the field of renewable energy and production of medical apparatuses.
Several relevant business groups, said Mr. Botti, will follow this visit of his targeting to open a market for them in a country so near Italy and as lucrative as China.
According to Mr. Botti, investments in the field of energy consist of agri-culture and recycling of products for production of energy from ethanol. Another investment opportunity is even production of energy and recycling of the urban waste according to principle “Waste in Energy”.
Besides, Mr. Botti informed of another Italian company interest in transferring its activity in Albania related to the production of digital tools and worthy for the Internet in Albania. In the field of health, an Italian company focused on production of mammography apparatuses also targets to run an activity in Albania for production of these equipments. In the framework of energy production from waste, the recycling of sanitation waste is also included.
PM Berisha thanked Mr. Botti for the visit and the interest of the Italian business to invest in Albania. The offer of the Italian business, said the prime minister, is very interesting and the government of Albania strongly supports the idea of production activities and foreign investments in the field of energy, recycling of the urban waste as well as production of apparatuses and other equipments. He ensured that all the government structures are set to support this proposal become a success story.
The government of Albania priority for development of renewable energy, said the prime minister further, is already expressed in several works and the building of others is another test of the sector’s importance and the success of our economic model. Likewise, the production of medical apparatuses and recycling of the urban waste are very important for the rapid development and the sustainable growth of the Albanian economy.
After appreciating highly the Italian investors interesting selection of the sectors for investment, the prime minister emphasized that the government has already paved the way through the further deepening of the relevant reforms. The increase of economic competitiveness in every country, said the prime minister, makes a contribution to Europe and influences the European economy coming out of crisis. The recent developments of the Italian economy, as an important part of the European economy, are positive and promising.
At the end of the meeting, PM Berisha emphasized that the economic cooperation of the two countries, as backed by the Italian embassy as well, is being promoted more and more through these concrete projects.
