Dr Tomislav Bacic from the eastern Croatian city of Osijek has gained notable recognition for his work. The International Biographical Centre (IBC) in Cambridge, England, has named him amongst the top 100 best scientists in the world in 2012.
Bacic is a retired University Professor from the Joseph J. Strossmayer University, and received the honour thanks to the large number of citations and inquiries for his expert scientific works.
'Most of the papers relate to the anatomy of oak leaves and the study of oaks in the lower Posavina region." Although twice elected as a full professor and tenured full time, I was forced into retirement when I turned 65, but I have not stopped working with scientists," said Bacic.
Bacic was born in Osijek 1938 and since 1996 has been a member of the Academy of Sciences in New York, in his 30-year career he has published over 50 scientific papers, reported Tportal.
