Serbia's best export partner Italy, import partner Russia

Italy was Serbia's best export partner in the first half of 2010, since goods in the total value of USD 509.3 million were exported to that country, while the Russian Federation was the main import partner from which Serbia imported goods in the worth of USD 1.03 billion, the Serbian Statistical Office has announced.

Italy is followed by Bosnia-Herzegovina with USD 498 million and Germany with USD 482.3 million. The country's top import partners after Russia were Germany, from which Serbia imported goods in the value of USD 822 million, and Italy with USD 693.3 million.
More than half of Serbia's total foreign trade was carried out with the EU member states.
The biggest trade surplus was achieved with Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and FYRMacedonia, while the greatest trade deficit was recorded with Russia, due to energy imports, primarily oil and gas.
