Tadic: DS as regional political factor
Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic, who was elected party president for the third consecutive time Saturday, said he is proud to be following in the political footsteps of Zoran Djindjic, so that DS can become not only the key party in Serbia, but one of the key political factors in the region as well.
At the 14th DS Election Convention held in Belgrade, Tadic pointed out that Djindjic laid the foundations for a modern European Serbia and proved that DS members are willing to take on any risk in the interest of the state and the people.
Tadic concluded that the elections in DS took place in a fair atmosphere, following months of democratic dialogue inside the party.
He said the party will keep working to build a modern European Serbia and create room for new freedoms, thus setting the bar high for its political competitors and showing the way to its political partners.
