For European Serbia whip Nada Kolundzija said Monday that she expected the 2011 budget bill to be discussed by the parliament starting December 22.

Kolundzija told reporters at the parliament that the government had put together the only possible proposal for the budget, adding that it guaranteed stability in the coming year.

"I believe the government came up with the only possible budget, which leaves something to be desired by all sides, but guarantees stability in the coming year, that is it fulfills the requirements for stability in 2011, which is very important," Kolundzija noted.

The parliament must complete its discussion on the budget by midnight December 29, which means the MPs will have to put in some overtime, she remarked.

Kolundzija expects the parliament to discuss amendments to the laws on the budget system, excise tax, property tax and personal property tax as well, together with the budget bill.
