Dinar down 94 paras against euro

The Serbian currency was down for the second straight day, losing a total of RSD 2.2 against the euro, after seven consecutive days of strong gains against the EU currency, during which it went up around three dinars.
The dinar weakened by 94 paras or 93 percent against the euro Tuesday, making the official middle exchange rate 106,5390, announced the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) after it intervened by selling EUR 60 million in the interbank foreign exchange market Monday, in an attempt to alleviate the excessive daily fluctuations in the exchange rate.
The Serbian currency was down for the second straight day, losing a total of RSD 2.2 against the euro, after seven consecutive days of strong gains against the EU currency, during which it went up around three dinars.
Counting Monday's intervention, the NBS has sold a total of EUR 2,499 billion since the start of the year. Last week, the central bank intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market every day save Friday, buying a total of EUR 116 million.
The dinar hit its high for the year on January 4, when the official middle exchange rate was 95,9679, and its low on November 4, when the euro was worth 107,5216.
