Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.2% on average in September 2011 in relation to August 2011, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia released in a statement on Wednesday.

Observed by main groups according to destination of consumption in September 2011 in relation to the previous month, the greatest increase of prices was noted in the groups Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house (1.7%), Transport and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.4% each), Clothing and footwear (0.3%), Restaurants and hotels (0.2%).
The greatest decrease of prices was noted in the group Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.6%). Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged. Consumer prices in September 2011 increased by 9.3% in relation to September 2010 and by 6.3% relative to December 2010.
