Members of the Police Union of Serbia are satisfied with the progress in the talks with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but are continuing their strike because meeting some of their demands will take time.
Union leader Veljko Mijailovic told Tanjug that one of the strikers' demands - changes to the Law on Police - could come before the government as early as Friday, and before the parliament soon after. He reminded that Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has called a meeting with all heads of police administrations for Friday to discuss the implementation of the special collective agreement.
The representative union went on strike Monday, respecting the legally mandated minimum work hours, and is asking for better financial and social conditions for police officers.
