Opening of the conservation laboratories at the Central Conservation Institute

Serbian Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic, Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varicchio and director of High Conservation Institute in Rome Gisella Caponi are to officially open conservation laboratories at the Central Conservation Institute on Thursday, 13 October at 13.00 at the Institute, Terazije 26.

Serbian Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic, Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varicchio and director of High Conservation Institute in Rome Gisella Caponi are to officially open conservation laboratories at the Central Conservation Institute on Thursday, 13 October at 13.00 at the Institute, Terazije 26.

The diploma-awarding ceremony for the students graduating from conservation courses is to be held on the same day at 13.30 at the National Museum, Trg Republike 1.

Providing equipment for the conservation laboratories is part of the strategic project of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Serbian Ministry of Culture “Support for the creation of Central Conservation Institute in Belgrade” financed by the Italian Government.

The project provided high-end conservation equipment for the laboratories and documents, photographs, paintings, metals and textiles conservation at the Institute.

Eight conservation courses for experts from Serbia and southeastern Europe were held as part of the project. The most eminent experts from the High Conservation Institute in Rome and other Italian institutions that deal with national heritage conservation lectured at the courses.
