One of the possibilities is to fully open the market, and the other is to regulate the highest oil derivative price, which would be formed according to the oil derivatives prices, and not based on the crude oil price and USD currency, which was the custom so far.

Ministry of Mining and Energy is considering about two options for determining prices of oil derivatives in Serbia as of January 1, 2011, State Secretary in the Ministry of Energetic Dusan Mrakic told Tanjug, underscoring that the Ministry is closest to allowing liberalization of oil derivatives prices on the Serbian market.

One of the possibilities is to fully open the market, and the other is to regulate the highest oil derivative price, which would be formed according to the oil derivatives prices, and not based on the crude oil price and USD currency, which was the custom so far, Mrakic stated.

Mrakic emphasized that a decision regarding which of the options will be applied should be made by the end of the week, after the oil derivatives liberalization on the Serbian market begins.
