Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said that Serbia will not withdraw the resolution on Kosovo-Metohija from the UN General Assembly, nor it will change the text of the document.

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said that Serbia will not withdraw the resolution on Kosovo-Metohija from the UN General Assembly, nor it will change the text of the document.

In a statement to yesterday’s edition of daily Vecernje Novosti, Djelic pointed out that this is the final decision of Belgrade and added that for Serbia the best outcome would be to reach an agreement with the EU, but Serbia cannot accept changes in the meaning of this document.

"Reaching an agreement with the EU would be the best possible solution, but we cannot accept to change the very essence of that document," said Djelic.

Vecernje Novosti reports this is the final decision of the Serbian authorities, because whatever the outcome of the talks in New York's East River, Belgrade will have nothing much to lose in its diplomatic fight for Kosovo.

Even in case the UN General Assembly does not adopt Serbia's resolution, the country will not loose much, the daily says, stating that Serbia has already prepared a strategy for three possible outcomes at the UN.
