Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic met with President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Philippe Maystadt yesterday and stressed that all EIB-funded projects in Serbia are being successfully implemented.

Cvetkovic added that the majority of these projects concern road infrastructure.

With the €40 million loan for the ring road around Belgrade, signed today, and an anticipated agreement about a €350 million loan for Corridor 10, which will be signed around the end of November, the financial construction for Corridor 10 will be successfully concluded, the Prime Minister declared.

At the meeting they agreed that in future, special attention should be paid to the modernisation and reconstruction of the railway infrastructure.

The Prime Minister observed that the loans amounting to €315 million, which Serbia received from the EIB, are very important since 2,170 new jobs were created due to them.

It was agreed that the opening of an EIB regional office in Belgrade, scheduled for November, will further enhance cooperation between the Bank and Serbia.
