Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic signed contracts on one-off assistance for encouraging investments in Nis yesterday, with which this city has gained nine new factories, almost 3,000 new jobs and €40 million in investment.
Dinkic said that this new investment in Nis is a result of the Ministry’s initiative from May this year to double incentives to investors who place their production plants in Nis. This initiative was taken due to alarmingly poor development indicators and an unemployment rate which is higher in Nis than Serbia’s average.
The nine companies will employ almost 3,000 people and invest €40 million, Dinkic specified and pointed out that only in this way can Nis’ recovery be encouraged.
Out of the nine companies that have invested in Nis, six are domestic and from various fields – electronics, software and food industries, as well as a metal complex.
Apart from South Koran Yura Corporation which will open 2,000 workplaces, as confirmed at Dinkic’s recent visit to this country, the companies Dytech, Bard, Euro Design, Haj Ararat, Harder Digital, MBN bakery, Ming and Sea Food Serbia have also decided to build new factories or expand existing ones in Nis.
