Serbia recorded 721,043 unemployed persons in September 2010, 3,227 persons or 0.45 pct less than in August. In year-on-year comparison, the number of the unemployed dropped by 16,177.

According to the research carried out by the Serbian Statistical Office, unemployment rate amounted to 19.2 pct in April 2010. Out of the total number of persons who have been registered at the National Employment Service the Republic of Serbia (NSZ) for over a year, 468,963 persons (65 pct) are actively looking for a job, and 55,1 pct of them are women.
