Fourth Science Festival opens

As a response to its competition, the Belgrade-based Center for Science Promotion has received 320 offers from all parts of the world and winners will be announced on December 17, Minister for Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said on Friday.

As a response to its competition, the Belgrade-based Center for Science Promotion has received 320 offers from all parts of the world and winners will be announced on December 17, Minister for Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said on Friday.

At the opening of the Fourth Science Festival, Djelic said that it was a large-scale international competition.

Djelic recalled that a new cycle of project financing will start on January 1, 2011, adding that beside budget funds, EUR 400 million will be provided for Serbia's scientific and technological infrastructure.

He said that equipment worth EUR 100 million will also be provided for researchers as of next year.

The Science Festival, held under the slogan “Face to face with science,” will close on December 5. It will gather 250 young scientists and 20 scientific institutions, who will present the importance of scientific achievements through 32 presentations, four exhibitions and numerous lectures and fun workshops.
