Kosovo’s new president to be Bedzet Pacolli

Pacolli reached this agreement on Saturday evening at a meeting with Hashim Thaci, leader of Democratic Party of Kosovo, the party that won the highest number of seats in the Kosovan parliament in the recent elections, the Albanian media report.

New Kosovo Alliance leader B. Pacolli, who is one of the richest Albanians in the world, will be Kosovo’s new president.

Pacolli reached this agreement on Saturday evening at a meeting with Hashim Thaci, leader of Democratic Party of Kosovo, the party that won the highest number of seats in the Kosovan parliament in the recent elections, the Albanian media report.

Pacolli and Thaci agreed also that New Kosovo Alliance will appoint one deputy prime minister and four ministers, whose portfolios are not clear yet.

According to the Albanian media Hashim Thaci’s party will appoint the prime minister, one deputy prime minister, eight ministers and parliament speaker.

Dr. Ibrahim Rugova ticket will have one minister, whereas the Serbian parties will have three ministers. The other minorities will divide two posts – of a minister and of a deputy prime minister.

Thaci insisted on Ramus Haradinaj’s Alliance for the Future of Kosovo joining the coalition, but the party refused, Macedonian Kanal 5 television station reports.
