The mobile operator Telekom Srbija activated on Wednesday an SMS number 2001 via which users of the network can make donations of RSD 50 (EUR 1 = RSD 102) as aid for the population of Japan, the company said in a release on the same day.

The text message charges are RSD 50, without added tax, and the funds raised by Telekom will be paid to an account of Serbia's Red Cross, which considers it a commitment to assist the people of Japan who were struck by huge natural disasters last week, the release says.
