Serbian President Boris Tadic will on Sunday begin a two-day official visit to Kuwait, where he will meet with country's top officials and discuss improving bilateral cooperation, which is characterized by very good political relations but a very modest volume of trade.

An official statement said that the Serbian president will meet with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Speaker of the National Assembly Jassem Al-Kharafi.

Serbia and Kuwait have excellent political relations, and, as stated earlier, no issues could damage the relations between the two countries, the one related Kosovo-Metohija included, as Kuwait did not recognize Kosovo's independence.

However, the good political relations are not accompanied by an appropriate economic cooperation.

To that end, Tadic is scheduled to meet with Managing Director and of Kuwait Investment Authority Bader Mohammed Al-Saad and Director General of Kuwait Fund Abdul Wahab Al-Bader.

Tadic will also take part in a Kuwait-Serbia business forum, a chance to look into opportunities for promoting economic cooperation and investment.
