Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac said Saturday that Serbia will sign an agreement on defense cooperation with Kuwait, as part of the visit of a Serbian state delegation to that country on April 10-11.
Sutanovac told Tanjug that the agreement will allow “further cooperation between the two armies, and what is more important, cooperation in the defense industry.”
“I believe we have the quality to continue our cooperation and to get the job related to repair and modernization of tanks which the former Yugoslavia exported to Kuwait and which are still in use today,” he said.
“These are the tanks produced virtually in the entire former Yugoslavia at the time and now repairs can be done by Serbia with the help of defense industries of Russia and France,” he said.
Sutanovac also said that “if according to the market principle Slovenia and Croatia offered to participate in the process, we will be happy to cooperate, with the desire to be an integrator of defense industries from the entire former Yugoslavia.”
Sutanovac will be a member in the state delegation that will, during its two-day visit to Kuwait which starts on Sunday, be led by President Boris Tadic.
