China is Serbia's most significant business partner in Asia, and the overall relations between the two countries were raised to the highest level by establishing a strategic partnership, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Milos Bugarin stated Monday.

At the opening of the Serbia-China Business Forum, he said that one of the most important segments of strategic partnership are the promotion of economic cooperation in the area of energy, IT, industrial production, agriculture and food processing industry.
Bugarin expressed expectation that contacts between the Serbian and Chinese businessmen will result in new business arrangements of mutual interest.
He said that commodity exchange between Serbia and China is increasing, with a huge deficit on the Serbian side.
The commodity exchange between Serbia and China amounted to EUR 1.3 billion, and it reached EUR 512 million in the first four months of 2011.
