Serbian Justice Minister Snezana Malovic said Wednesday that her ministry intends to propose an anti-corruption plan by the end of the week.

She said that the new anti-corruption plan envisages coordination of state bodies in the fight against corruption and making the process transparent.

Anti-corruption fight can be preventive or repressive and include education and other measures, Malovic said after opening a conference organized by the Association of Magistrates on the occasion of the 90th anniversary since the establishment of the misdemeanour system in Serbia.

She said the first phase of the forthcoming plan includes innovations and implementation of the strategy and action plan against corruption dating back to 2005, which constitute the legal and institutional bases of activities in this field.

Serbia has created a working group headed by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Zorana Markovic to try to define concrete measures that must be undertaken in the sector in order to act on corruption prevention, Malovic said.
