Serbian parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic invited Council of Europe (CoE) Special Rapporteur Dick Marty to attend this year's session of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), due to be held in Belgrade on July 6-10.

“I invited Mr. Marty to take part in the Twentieth Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly that will be taking place in Belgrade soon and particularly in a panel discussion on the fight against illegal trade in human organs,” Djukic-Dejanovic told Tanjug.

On January 25, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE adopted Marty's report and resolution on human organ trafficking in Kosovo. The documents call for a relevant international investigation.

June this year, EULEX formed a task force to investigate the allegations about illegal trade in human organs in Kosovo contained in Mr. Marty's report, and Serbia demands that a mandate for such an independent body should be given by the UN Security Council.
