A 4.2-Richter-magnitude quake hit the Kopaonik mountain range, near Brzece, just north of the administrative line with Kosovo, at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, the Seismological Survey of Serbia has announced.

A 4.2-Richter-magnitude quake hit the Kopaonik mountain range, near Brzece, just north of the administrative line with Kosovo, at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, the Seismological Survey of Serbia has announced.

The magnitude at the epicentre was 6 according to the Mercalli scale.

Earthquakes of this strength are considered weak and rarely cause serious damage.
