Dacic pointed out Tuesday that one should not allow for Kosovo to be a "black hole" where criminals can hide so as to avoid justice. On the first day of his visit to Slovakia, Dacic thanked the country for its support to Serbia's EU integration and its stance on Kosovo, and assessed cooperation in the area of internal affairs between the two countries as good and long standing.
Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has conferred with his Slovak counterpart Daniel Lipsic in Bratislava on the case of extradition to Slovakia of two suspects for criminal acts, who are believed to be hiding in Kosovo.
The suspects are Karol Mel and Baki Sadiki, whose extradition was requested by Serbia, on behalf of Slovakia.
Dacic pointed out Tuesday that one should not allow for Kosovo to be a "black hole" where criminals can hide so as to avoid justice.
He recalled that Serbia requested via EULEX the extradition of the two suspects on behalf of Slovakia, that country which has not recognized the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, the Slovak agency TASR reported.
Dacic said that it is of mutual interest that suspects at large be arrested, extradited and brought before court.
The Slovak authorities believe that there is a possibility that Slovak citizen Karol Melo, charged with double murder near Bratislava in 2004, is hiding in Kosovo.
In June 2011, Kosovo Albanian holding a Slovak passport Baki Sadiki was convicted before the Presov District Court to 22 years in prison for illegal production, possession and trade in narcotics.
The Slovak media said that Sadiki, who headed the group that smuggled heroin from Turkey to Slovakia, is most likely hiding in Kosovo.
On the first day of his visit to Slovakia, Dacic thanked the country for its support to Serbia's EU integration and its stance on Kosovo, and assessed cooperation in the area of internal affairs between the two countries as good and long standing.
