Bulgaria supports Serbia in its efforts to receive the status of a country – applicant for EU membership.That was what Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov said on the occasion of the forthcoming sitting of the General Affairs and Foreign Affairs Councils of the EU next week, the ministry announced.

“This will launch a new, key stage of Serbia’s EU integration that will have its importance for the accession of the whole West Balkans too. This is also the best guarantee for the rights of our compatriots in this country. The progress of Serbia will confirm the perspective for all states from the region that want to join the EU,” Minister Mladenov further said.
