The Serbian dinar will hit its new record low Friday, weakening by 0.2 percent and setting the exchange rate at RSD 109.3392 per one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has said in a release.

The previous lowest value of the dinar against the hard currency was recorded on February 10, when one euro was worth RSD 109.18.

The Serbian currency will tomorrow be 3.9 percent weaker against the euro than a month ago, while dropping by six percent compared to a year ago.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 82.2966 on Thursday and no change took place compared to the previous day. In comparison to last month, the dinar weakened against the U.S. dollar by 1.9, and compared to the prior year by 9.2 percent.

During this year, the NBS intervened twice in the interbank foreign exchange market, the first time on February 8, when it sold EUR 10 million and the second on February 9, when it sold another EUR 68.5 million, to prevent the excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.

This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, when the middle exchange rate was at RSD 103.6922 per one euro.
