There were four such attacks in the last 24 hours, Pakistani officials confirmed, and in the Thursday attack, seven people were killed in the Khyber region, which is considered to be home to militant organization Lashkar-e-Islami, Reuters reported.
The missiles fired by unmanned drones hit houses in the villages of Spin Drag and Shandana in the Tirah Valley, and in two attacks 15 people were killed, unnamed members of Pakistani intelligence said, and the AP Agency reported.
American agency also noted that the attacks were aimed at eliminating key extremists, and that they caused Pakistani nationalist’s rage.
Most of a 100 similar attacks in 2010 happened in North Waziristan, which is a tribal area under the control of Taliban and other extremist groups related to al-Qaida.
