A delegation of the Venice Commission, led by its President Gianni Buquicchio, is in Tunisia at the invitation of the Tunisian authorities for a three-day visit to discuss ways of assisting the national authorities in the context of the upcoming constitutional and electoral reforms.

The delegation will meet with the Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the High Commission for the achievement of the goals of the revolution, for political reform and democratic transition. Meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Interior, the European Union and the Turkish embassy in Tunisia are also planned.

A press briefing is scheduled on Friday 18 March in the afternoon (time tbc).
