The development of common projects in the Danube area is important both for Romania and for Serbia, said president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) Sorin Dimitriu and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia in Bucharest Zoran S Popovic.

The development of common projects in the Danube area is important both for Romania and for Serbia, said president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) Sorin Dimitriu and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia in Bucharest Zoran S Popovic, a CCIB press release sent to Agerpres on Friday informs.

'The common projects in the Danube area, mainly in the energy sector, but also in tourism, environment or transport sectors are extremely important both for Romania and for Serbia,' said Sorin Dimitriu.

CCIB's intention of opening a branch in Serbia with the role of promoting the Romanian offer, but also of identifying the opportunities provided by this target market was deemed as timely by the Serbian diplomat.

The cooperation on third markets, Romanian companies' exploitation of investment opportunities provided by Serbia as well as the cooperation in the academic and research fields are some concrete modalities for the Romanian-Serbian relations to enter a new development stage, underscored the CCIB president.

The Ambassador of Serbia added that it would be efficient to organize in Bucharest a business forum, in order to discuss the bilateral investment opportunities, on the occasion of the upcoming visit of the Serbian Prime Minister to Romania.
