Austria has joined the South Stream gas pipeline, according to an inter-governmental agreement signed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann on Saturday.

The agreement was signed after the talks between the leaders of the two countries on Saturday.

In addition, Russia’s Gazprom and OMV Austria signed a basic cooperation agreement on the implementation of the South Stream gas project.
