Unidentified persons stoned Serb Grigorije Milovanovic and his granddaughter in the village of Sainovica, in the municipality of Istok in western Kosovo, confirmed the coordinator for the return of displaced persons in that municipality Vesna Malikovic.
She said that the attack occurred about 10 o’clock last night while Milovanovic and his granddaughter were in the UNHCR tent, where they live until their house is restored.
Milovanovic was not injured, and his granddaughter was taken in central Serbia after the attack, said Malikovic and added that Kosovo and EULEX police are investigating the case.
Milovanovic returned to the village of Sainovica in late March with the help of UNHCR and another 12 Serb families. Sainovica is close to Zac, where Albanians repeatedly stoned Serb returnees over the past days.
Attacks have been condemned by the EU mission and other international institutions in Kosovo.
