In today’s globalizing world the concept of trans-national partnership between America, Europe and Russia should be revised, said the President of New Policy Forum and former Soviet leader Michail Gorbachev upon opening in Sofia the international conference “Europe Looks East”.

According to Gorbachev the sphere of trans-national partnership should consider the issues of security and matters of political significance.

He voiced support for the idea for a treaty for European security containing concrete mechanisms for preventing conflicts.

The Conference is organized by the New Policy Forum and Bulgaria’s “Slaviani” Foundation.
