The Romanian National Waters Administration has said in a press release that the toxic sludge from Hungary has reached the Danube River and it will reach Romanian territory in six days at the latest.

'According to the latest information received from the Hungarian side, where the toxic sludge has reached the Danube, the River pH is below 9.00. According to projections of the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management, the polluting wave that is now upstream Budapest will take some five days to enter Romania', the Waters Administration said in a release to Agerpres.
Its experts estimate that the Danube pH on entering Romania at Bazias, in the south-west will stand at around 8.5.
