Macedonian feature film "Punk's Not Dead" of Vladimir Blazevski will open Friday the 14. Skopje Film Festival, including about 20 films screened up to April 20 in cinema "Millennium" and Macedonian Cinematheque.

Macedonian feature film "Punk's Not Dead" of Vladimir Blazevski will open Friday the 14. Skopje Film Festival, including about 20 films screened up to April 20 in cinema "Millennium" and Macedonian Cinematheque.

The film is a Macedonian-Serbian co-production, dealing with social topics and depicting characters from the street. The cast includes Toni Mihajlovski, Jordan Simonov, Kamka Tocinovski, Kiril Pop Hristov, Vladimir Tuliev etc.

The festival is comprised of a main program, retrospective program "Skopje '90s", short films and one-minute films.

Oscar laureates "The King's Speech" and "Social Network" will be projected, whereas Spanish "18 Comidas" (18 Meals) with Macedonian actor Milan Tocinovski in one of the roles and Brand Ferro as cinematographer will close the festival.

Renowned Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi, winner of prestigious film awards in Cannes and Venice, will be the festival's special guest. He will hold a lecture at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, whereas the Macedonian Cinematheque will present him with a recognition for outstanding contribution in world cinematography.

"This year's festival motto is fighting piracy. The titles are already on the market, but we hope that the true lovers will come to feel the magic of film", said festival director IvoDroutsas criticises Hungarian presidency quip over Fyrom 'name issue'
