The prices of basic foodstuff are growing from month to month, the findings of the supermarkets-monitoring portal Supermarketi.info show.

Right before Easter-time, the prices of basics such as flour, cooking oil and sugar have grown several percentage points, the daily 24 Sata writes.

A kilogram of plain flour went up seven per cent from 4.19 kunas (0.57 Euros) to 4.49 kunas (0.61 Euros), while the maximum for a kilo of sugar of 7.99 kunas (1.09 euros) last month is this month’s average.

And while increases are subtle they have been happening since the beginning of the year, the portal’s owner Domagoj Sojat warns.
