Although the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) shall close its office in BiH on 30 June, Austria will not stop investing in BiH, it was said today in Sarajevo at the second donor coordination forum.
Although the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) shall close its office in BiH on 30 June, Austria will not stop investing in BiH, it was said today in Sarajevo at the second donor coordination forum.
The Austrian government from 1995 to 2010 has invested 465 million euro in BiH, out of that amount from 14 percent was invested through ADA.
"Austria invested in BiH in education, economy and strengthening of state institutions, " said for the media director of the ADA Brigitte Oppinger-Walchshofer.
She added that the future focus will be on commercial projects and that BiH has the ability to take on so-called soft loans that are on disposal to BiH in the amount of 48 million euro.
Austrian ambassador Donatus Kock stated he was happy with cooperation between Austria and BiH and underlined engagement and performance of Austrian companies and organizations in creating new jobs.
"This meeting today will inform our partners, our colleagues from other donor organizations and the general public about the impact of Austrian investments in BiH, as well as the way in which Austria will continue to support BiH on its path towards EU membership," says Kock.
