Short-term receivables of the 1.600 largest companies in the Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) in the first half of this year increased by one billion marks(about half billion euros), or 20.8 percent compared more to last year, and currently amount is 4.8 billion marks (about 2,4 billion euros), the officials from Chamber of Commerce of RS stated.

A spokesman from the Chamber of Commerce of RS Vladimir Blagojevic said that the outstanding debts are one of the biggest problems of the businessmen in the RS.
“Increase by up to one billion marks was further jeopardize the already poor liquidity of the companies”, Blagojevic added.
Economists point out that such a large amount of uncollected receivables chain takes the companies into a position that they can not settle its obligations, not only to each other, but to RS budget and the workers also.
