The first joint Bulgarian-Serbian border patrol has been formed at the Kalotina border checkpoint. It consists of 4 border police officers – two Bulgarian and two Serbian.

The main tasks of the joint patrol are preventing and disclosing crimes and violations in the border zone, as well as countering illegal migration, human trafficking, car thefts, arms smuggling, etc.

The police officers included in the joint patrol will conduct checks of persons, goods and vehicles as well as of related documents and will provide reports in real time in case violations are ascertained in any side of the border.
