Around 60 companies from Israel operate in Serbia and total Israeli investment has added up to more than EUR1 billion, mainly in real estate, the Israeli ambassador to Serbia, Yossef Levy, stated on Oct. 25.

"There are 30 companies operating in Serbia that are registered locally and the same number of companies involved in cooperation deals but registered in the Netherlands, France, Italy and the U.S.," he told reporters while visiting the construction site of the Plaza Center shopping mall in Kragujevac.

Levy added that the value of trade between Serbia and Israel was EUR60 million, adding that much room for expansion existed.

Plaza general manager Sagiv Meger told reporters that the Plaza Center was worth about EUR50 million, adding that it was the first of three projects and a part of the company's longterm strategy of investment in Serbia.
