The Russian warship Caesar Kunikov BDK-64 sailed into the port of Alexandroupoli, northern Greece, on Thursday afternoon in the framework of a scheduled three-day visit to the region.

The Russian warship Caesar Kunikov BDK-64 sailed into the port of Alexandroupoli, northern Greece, on Thursday afternoon in the framework of a scheduled three-day visit to the region.

The vessel belongs to the Russian Black Sea Fleet, it has a length of 112.6 metres, a displacement of 3,500 tons and 250 crew.

The arrival of the warship in the port of Alexandroupoli is linked to the inauguration of the Monument of fallen Russian soldiers during the Russian-Turkish war (1877-1878), that will take place at noon on Friday, immediately after the pupil and military parade, in which a group of Russian marines will be participating.
