Cluj-Napoca (northwest of Bucharest) is the first city in Romania which has a three-dimensional map, showing the most important tourist attractions located in the historic city center.
Cluj-Napoca (northwest of Bucharest) is the first city in Romania which has a three-dimensional map, showing the most important tourist attractions located in the historic city center.
According to a release of Cluj-Napoca City Hall, remitted to AGERPRES, the map was made by Schubert & Franzke company - the most important producer of maps in Romania - and will be provided for free to tourists, through the Tourist Information Center. The map printing was financially sustained by local companies.
The 16 objectives presented in the 3 D system and described in Romanian and English languages are the Botanical Garden, the National Museum of Art, Matei Corvin House, the Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral, the Reformed Church and the statue of "Saint George slaying the dragon", the walls of Fortress, the Roman Catholic Church "Saint Michael", the statuary ensemble Matei Corvin in the Unification Square, the Tailors' Tower, the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, "Babes-Bolyai" University, the Stronghold, "Simon Bărnutiu" Central Park and the old Casino, the Museum square, the Collection of the History of Pharmacy, "Lucian Blaga" National Theater and the Romanian National Opera.
Other tourist attractions appear graphically on the map, such as the Transit House, Cluj Stadium Arena, the Fire-fighters Tower, the statue of Michael the Brave, the State Hungarian Opera and Theater and the City Hall building.
The three-dimensional map is part of the set of publicity material the municipality presents on its own stand at the International tourism fair in Madrid - FITUR 2012, which was opened on Wednesday and will end on January 22
