Five houses have been burnt to the ground in the fire that broke out early Monday in Tetovo's Koltuk settlement, Tetovo police spokesperson Marjan Josifovski said.

Fire caused significant material damage but no injuries.

The fire broke out at 6.30 am and immediately eight fire-fighting vehicles started to extinguish the fire. The fire spread quickly because the houses were very old and were burnt to the ground.

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of a fire.
