The Turkish- and Turkic-American and Macedonian-American communities, through ATAA, FTAA, TCA and UMD, are working closely together to strengthen US relations with Southeast Europe, and ensure the peace, security, and stability of the entire region.
The Assembly of Turkish-American Associations (ATAA), the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA), and the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA), representing the voice of over 500,000 Turkish-Americans and 300,000 Turkic-Americans, sent a letter to US President Barack Obama urging him "to consider the interests of the Euro-Atlantic community by demonstrating the United States' clear support for Macedonia's membership in the Alliance at the upcoming NATO Summit in Chicago this May," United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) said Wednesday in a press release.
"Macedonia has proven itself to be a committed member of the Alliance since entering the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program in 1995 and submitting its Membership Action Plan (MAP) in 1999...Macedonia has fulfilled all of the MAP requirements for membership. The only obstacle has been the bilateral name dispute with Greece. Bilateral disputes have never held back the progress of NATO before, and this one should be no different. With the recent ruling of the International Court of Justice in regards to Macedonia, it has been shown that international law is on the side of Macedonia," stated the ATAA, FTAA, and TCA Presidents.
"NATO leads in promoting global security, and has helped create a Europe that is whole, free, and at peace following the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communism in Europe. This year marks the sixtieth anniversary of NATO's first enlargement, which encompassed Greece and Turkey. Inclusion in NATO has been of tremendous value for these countries, as well as for global security, and the inclusion of Macedonia into the Alliance is well overdue," the letter reads.

The current Turkish government very well knows from Ottoman demographic records there was no such thing as an "ethnic Macedonian" (and also plays dumb to FYROM's sudden change into "ancient Macedonians") Their current support of FYROM is just a way to undermine Greece and expand into the Balkans again in a form of neo-Ottomanism. Just when things were improving between Turkey and Greece, the current ultra nationalist Turkish government decided to screw up its relations with Greece.

The ICJ said that the Greek veto was illegal. What can't you understand about that?

The ICJ was just 15 people that voted one way . They're selective patronizing blindness over blatently obvious attempt for FYROM to usurp Greek history and use it as a manipulative tool to insinuate Macedonia Greece is "occupied" (much like in the cold war.. when western power claimed "ethnic Macedonians" communist demagoguery. Identity is a human right.... not identity theft and an attempt to ethnically erase Macedonians and substitute them with FYROM nationalist Nazis.

Since the current Turkish government wants to play games with Greece rather than build a friendship.... Greece should play by its own rules and support the full self-determination of Kurds. United Kurdistan. Kurdistan for the Kurds. yada... yada... Sound familiar?

Turkey has a track record of supporting someone while it serves its interests and then stubing them in the back when its interests change.
Israel, Syria, Iraq, Iran, the United States (ring a bell?).
Vardarska/FYROM will be stubed in the back very soon when Turkey supports the Albanian UCK as they start their renewed violence in Vardarska/FYROM, and then Vardarska/FYROM will realize its big mistake. It can stop its territorial ambitions against Greece and Bulgaria now or pay later when it has no-one to turn to.
