At least 315 illegal brothels operate within the limits of the Athens municipality, according to data provided by the municipality on Wednesday.

In 2011 alone, municipal services, in cooperation with the Greek Police, which has law enforcement jurisdiction, issued decisions for the sealing of 87 such premises, with 82 sealed, while the re-sealing of another 196 premises was necessary.
