Greece is the NATO member-state most likely to be kicked out of the Alliance because of its behaviour towards Macedonia and Turkey, shows a survey of the Atlantic Council and Foreign Policy magazine.
The two renowned institutions polled about 60 renowned heads of state, ministers of defense and foreign affairs, intelligence officers, and current and former members of Congress.
When asked which country they would kick out of NATO, Greece won comfortably with 18 votes, followed by Hungary (5), Turkey (4), Iceland (3), whereas 22 respondents said all member-states should remain in the Alliance.
Respondents said the reasons for Greece's NATO expelling were the its behavior towards Macedonia and Greece, as well as "its boundlessly selfish egotism and disruptive tactics".
On the other hand, when asked which country should join NATO, Macedonia was second with six votes, behind Sweden (13), but ahead of Australia, Georgia and the Ukraine with five each.
In the survey, respondents said the economic crisis is the biggest challenge for the transatlantic alliance, followed by nationalism and internal divisions. All respondents said NATO should continue to exist and the United States should remain in the Alliance. Only ten supported the idea of Russia joining NATO, whereas 19 left this option open for the future.
Interventions in Bosnia and Kosovo have been assessed as most successful, whereas the war in Afghanistan as the least successful undertaken by NATO.
When asked if NATO's European members could have conducted the operation in Libya without U.S. assistance, 48 respondents said "No".
Respondents included Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Lithuanian Defense Minister Rasa Jukneviciene, U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, former Congressmen Jim Kolbe, former Bulgarian Defense Minister Boyko Noev, Members of European Parliament Ioan Mircea Pascu and Ana Maria Gomes, analysts Daniel Serwer and Sally McNamara etc.

Greece could easily allow Russia the use of Moudros in Lemnos as naval base. Then the Russian fleet could be stationed in the Aegean. Further As all NATO American bases would close in this case Greece could easily allow to station Russian missile systems 100 km from Italy and the naval base of the sixth fleet. Very successful idea for the defense NATO network indeed...

Those that voted against Greece are patronizing Greek-hating bigots that dishonestly pretend not to notice FYROM's sudden change into "ancient Macedonians".

It looks like Greeks cannot stop fabricating history.
The whole World knows what happened in 1913.
Greece should be kicked out of NATO as well as from EU,for a very valid reasons;Lied to joing with NATO and again lied to joining EU.
A very noble idea to fabricate Greeces financial situation that can bring the whole World into its knees as did Leahman Bros.All this,for political reasons and awarding their cronies with borrowed money to re-elect themselves,like they do with Macedonias constitutional name.
Why would Russia want to establish a Naval base in Greece,in a country constantly lying to all and not keeping its word on any signed agreements?
John Adams,one of the founding fathers,in a statement written back on July 14th 1783 to the first US State Aecretary Robert Livingston,clearly states he wanted to see Macedonia as well as Greece independent from Ottoman rule.Adams then goes to describe the Greeks as people...230 years later they are still described in the same way,"corrupted in their morals to such a degree,as to be faithless,perfidious race,destitute of courage..."Today,nothing has changed.

ATHENIANS=GREEK
SPARTANS=GREEK
MACEDONIANS=GREEK
CRETANS=GREEK
etc. etc. etc.
This is tiring because first and foremost 90% of FYROM has never even touched actual Ancient Macedonian soil , so what you guys are arguing is just truly stupid. I can find different stories so people in FYROM think they are Macedonians when you are truly Slavs. It actually surprises me that a whole country would just make up what they are , just embrace the fact you are Slavs, Albanians, and Bulgarians. I am born and raised in USA and we actually laugh at Fyrom or whatever you guys are you guys are like a carnival.

@Peter
Looks like FYROM nationalists like you can't stop fabricating history.
'The idea that Alexander the Great belongs to us was at the mind of some outsider groups only. These groups were insignificant in the first years of our independence. But the big problem is that the old Balkan nations have been learned to legitimize themselves through their history. In the Balkans to be recognized as a nation you need to have history of 2,000 to 3,000 years old. Since you (Greece ) forced us to invent a history, we did invent it.'
(FYROM Foreign Minister Denko Maleski - 1991 to 1993)
