Two companies of US soldiers in KFOR have been transferred from the east to the north of Kosmet, where they will have military drills under the command of the multi-national brigade “North”.

American soldiers are stationed in the Bondsteel base, and they will stay in northern Kosmet until February 24, it has been communicated in Pristina. This deployment confirms the operative capacity of the backup and support to any combat unit in the Province, reads the statement of KFOR.

The maneuvers are not organized in reaction, or in preparation, to any current situation in Kosmet, but rather to confirm the ability of KFOR to rely on more flexible operations, with quick and resolute deployment, as needed.

It is stressed that the reorganization of KFOR into combat groups has lead to greater speed and will not have impact on its task to preserve the safe environment any time and anywhere in Kosmet.
