Bank helps celebration of 800 years of existence

Eurobank EFG Sponsor of Grand Anniversary of Zica Monastery

Eurobank EFG represents one of top donors in development of the local community through a programme titled “We invest in European values”, intended for health care, higher education, environmental protection and support to disabled individuals in which the Bank has so far invested more than EUR3m.

With a EUR5,000 worth of donation Eurobank EFG has joined celebration of 800 years of existence of Zica Monastery. This donation is intended for Zica Humanitarian Fund aiming to help socially vulnerable groups.

 

Zica Monastery represents one of the most important holy objects of the Serbian Orthodox Church and one of the most important monuments of the country’s culture and history.

This year, several cultural and art events will mark 800 years of existence of Zica Monastery and one of the most important activities is the publication of works of Bishop Nikolai of Zica in audio format intended for the broadest audience, especially blind and the vision impaired.

With this donation, the Bank will also support a tour of a completely new theatre monodrama performed by actor and professor of acting Nebojša Dugalić, based on articles written by St. Bishop Nikolai, which is to be played in almost all major Serbian towns.

 

As a company which has combined a strategy of dynamic growth with contribution to the community in which it operates ever since its foundation, Eurobank EFG has joined refurbishment of Zica Monastery.

Through numerous campaigns and events and also supporting the needs of social and educational institutions, Eurobank EFG has been recognized as a leader in socially responsible business which has been confirmed by the Virtus award for contribution to the local community the Bank was granted in December 2009.
